Uke on the Rails day one

11:30am Jan 30
Today it starts. I officially board the train in 30 mins for my first rail journey. I've been thinking about travel a lot this winter. It seems my life is preoccupied with motion. I'm either driving, flying, riding the train or getting on a boat to go somewhere. I'm not sure where this wanderlust hooked me but it has.
So today I board Train 15 to Montreal out of Halifax. I'm part of the On Board Entertainment program. I perform two shows in the lounge car. The first at 3:30pm today and the second at 8:30pm tonight. Acoustic ukulele shows in a noisy train. Should be tons of fun. I'll be capturing some video in hopes of getting a YouTube clip or two.
I arrive in Montreal tomorrow morning. Smoked Meat and good friends await.
My service manager is Steve. Attendent is Abby. The Skyline car is where I perform and Joe runs the canteen there.
